The woman claimed that she was an airhostess with Air India, the police said.
Investigators said the accused conducted interview for various posts of ground duty at the Delhi and Mumbai airports under the franchisee of Fly Zone Aviation based in New Delhi. About 30 persons were called for interview and the aspirants had been told to remit Rs.60,000 if they wanted to go to the next level of written examination.
However, some of the candidates doubted the interview procedures and alerted the Nadakkavu police. The recruiters failed to prove that they were a franchisee of the agency in New Delhi.
They did not have any document to establish that they had been asked to recruit staff at the airports, the police said.
The accused had neither advertised nor issued any press release about the walk-in- interview. However, they had called candidates over mobile phone and sent SMS about the interview at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
All of them were charged under Sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 419 (punishment for cheating by personation) of the IPC.
