A worker of a private decoration company was killed on Saturday while dismantling a temporary structure erected for swearing in of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Red Road.
The deceased, has been identified as Goutam Naskar, a resident of Baruipur in South 24 Parganas district.
"Goutam Naskar, one of the worker with Modern Decorators, somehow fell down from the dais (while removing it). He was taken to SSKM Hospital with serious bleeding injuries in head. He was declared brought dead there," a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
The swearing-in ceremony of Ms. Banerjee and 41 others in the State Council of Ministers was held on Friday on Red Road, a busy arterial link in the heart of the city.
