Two more held for Howrah gang rape

: Two people were arrested on Saturday for the alleged gang-rape of a 21-year-old married woman in West Bengal’s Howrah district earier this week, police said.

The woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men outside Mourigram station late on Thursday night and the culprits made her husband watch the act at gunpoint.

“We have arrested two more people in this connection. All three culprits have now been arrested,” Superintendent of Railway Police (Kharagpur) Joy Biswas said.

The police arrested one of the accused Friday.

According to the complaint, the man said his wife had taken shelter in the station premises after missing the last Howrah-bound train.

Three men later in the night came and dragged the couple outside the platform where they took turns to rape the woman and forced the man to watch the crime at gunpoint. IANS
