SC defers hearing in Saradha scam

January 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:08 am IST - New Delhi:

The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred hearing on the petitions filed by West Bengal and ruling Trinamool Congress seeking a court-monitored CBI probe into the multi-crore Saradha scam, alleging that the agency was acting as an “instrument” of the Centre and targeting the party leaders.

The matter was listed before a Bench, headed by Justice T. S. Thakur, but could not be taken up for hearing as the Judges were involved in a meeting.

The court master simply told the advocates appearing in the matter that it has been decided that the matter will not be taken up today and some other date will be fixed.
