People’s climate march in Kolkata today

The statement calls for an agreement that pins down government on emission levels.

Activists and citizens campaigning for an agreement on checking carbon emission to be arrived at the 21st Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change beginning at Paris will organise People’s Climate March here on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, activist under the banner of ‘Citizen’s Initiative on the Climate Crisis’ said that the conference on climate change beginning at Paris will determine the future of the planet earth and it is necessary to spread awareness about it.

“We demand that the conference spells out a clear and radical road map towards renewables and way from fossil fuel, nuclear and big hydro (projects),” a statement issued by activists like Meher Engineer, Dhrubojyoti Ghosh said.
