Days after a student was sexually assaulted at Visva-Bharati Univeristy, a second year student of the Jadavpur University’s Arts department, claimed on Tuesday that she was sexually assaulted by 10 students. The incident occurred on the evening of August 28 after a fest at the college.
According to the girl’s complaint, she was returning home when the accused dragged her to the boy’s hostel inside the campus and molested her. She was in a state of shock after the incident.
Police said that an FIR was lodged on Tuesday and the girl had complained against the 10 accused to the University authorities. The accused are believed to be students of the University.
The Dean of students, Rajat Dey, said he came to know of the incident through news channels and the girl had not filed a complaint with his office.
