An elderly man was allegedly assaulted by a youth after his daughter refused to withdraw a case of ‘attempted rape’ against the latter in Malda district of West Bengal. The alleged attack took place in the English Bazar police station area of the district on Monday.
On November 4, Mr. Seikh tried to rape the woman, but his attempt was foiled by Mr. Chowdhury. “He (Mr. Seikh) tried to rape me. When I told my father about this he informed other villagers. He was rebuked in a village court,” the woman told journalists.
