Jet Airways plane lands due to “partial emergency”

A Silchar-bound Jet Airways flight from the city carrying 70 passengers returned here under “partial emergency” conditions due to a hydraulic problem in the engine, sources said.

The aircraft was airborne for 15 minutes before it headed back and landed safely at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here, said sources. Jet Airways confirmed the incident. “Local standby was declared at 11.16 a.m. for the Jet Airways flight 9W-2881 and the pilot decided to take back the aircraft,” sources said. All the passengers were safe, they added. - PTI
