Hindu outfit leader held for attack

Tapan Ghosh, leader of Hindu Samhati was arrested by Kolkata Police on Wednesday when he and his supporters assaulted a group of journalists at a rally called by the organisation here.

Hindu Samhati had organised a rally in the city’s Esplanade area when it announced that 14 members of a family were embracing Hinduism. When journalists present at the rally tried to talk to the family, supporters of the samhati resisted, attacked and pushed them injuring a person. Mr. Tapan Gosh and three others were taken into custody.
