A teenager was gang-raped allegedly by three youths at the ‘labour colony,’ one of the residential quarters of the Hindustan Motors car factory in Hooghly district.

Despite operations getting suspended at the factory since last May, hundreds of employees are still residing in the housing complex.

“A 15-year-old girl was raped on Friday night in the labour colony by one youth who was accompanied by two others. The complaint was filed today [Saturday] morning. Based on the complaint, we arrested all the three accused,” Superintendent of Police, Hooghly, Sunil Kumar Chowdhury told The Hindu .

The girl had stepped out of her house to relieve herself around 11 p.m. when the three men dragged her away and raped her, Mr. Chowdhury added.

The girl is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
