The father of budding Bengal cricketer Ankit Keshri who died after an on-field collision has filed a police complaint alleging “foul play and gross medical negligence” in his son’s death.

In the complaint, Raj Kumar Keshri has demanded proper investigation so that “persons responsible for causing death of my son may be punished”.

“He (Ankit) was shifted to Nightingale Nursing Home (where he died on April 20) for reasons best known to them. From the account of the accident and the subsequent process of treatment I suspect there is some foul play as also gross negligence,” Mr Keshri said in the complaint registered at Bidhnannagar police station.

‘For better treatment’

The authorities of Cricket Association of Bengal said Ankit was shifted to Nightingale Nursing Home for better treatment.

Mr Keshri has also complained to the West Bengal Medical Council seeking probe into the alleged medical negligence.
