: Former All India Trinamool leader (AITC) Asif Khan, who is now behind bars, claimed on Tuesday that there is a conspiracy by the West Bengal government to kill him.

Mr Khan who hit the headlines after making allegations of involvement of senior AITC leaders in Saradha scam was arrested earlier this month on charges of cheating. He made the comments while being produced before a city court, which extended his judicial custody till December 9.

Mr Khan, who was once the AITC convenor for Uttar Pradesh and close to party general secretary Mukul Roy, has been saying that several senior Trinamool Congress leaders are involved in the Saradha scam. Before his arrest, he was grilled by the CBI in connection with the Saradha scam.
