The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met here on Sunday as part of a two-day meet that is expected to discuss the party's loss in the West Bengal polls.
“One of the issues to be discussed is the tactic adopted in Bengal, which did not succeed,” a senior party leader said in the run-up to the meet.
The party is expected to make a public statement on its deliberations only on Monday, the second day of the meet.
The party's central committee will then meet from June 18-20 to discuss issues in greater detail.
There was speculation that the Polit Bureau may discuss a possible role — perhaps of an advisor — for veteran party leader V.S. Achuthanandan in the Pinarayi Vijayan government in Kerala.
