The State Congress legislature party will bring a no confidence motion in November in the State Assembly against the ruling All India Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, State Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told media persons here on Saturday.

“What is the State government’s stand on issues like the Saradha scam, Jadavpur Univeristy protests and the Bardhaman blasts. We have full faith that the Speaker [Biman Banerjee] will permit us to hold a no confidence motion,” Mr. Chowdhury said.

The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee will be organising a march to the State Assembly when the State Legislature Party will table the no-confidence motion, he said.

The extended executive committee of the State Congress held a meeting earlier in the day.

Stating that the law and order situation in the State was in crisis, Mr. Chowdhury said the State has not seen any development or industrialisation. The Congress will be organising recruitment drives to strengthen the party to fight the upcoming municipality elections. “The BJP is trying to brand Muslims as infiltrators… The National Democratic Alliance failed to review the refugee policy when it was in power under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Jihadi activities in the country have increased after attempts were made to demolish the Babri Masjid and build the Ram Mandir,” he said.
