: The State party headquarters of the BJP witnessed clashes between two groups of party supporters for the second consecutive day here on Wednesday.

A group of party supporters from South 24 Parganas arrived at the party headquarters to organise a demonstration, but workers loyal to West Bengal president Rahul Sinha challenged them.

Clashes broke out between the two groups and some persons sustained injuries in the attack.

Workers shouted slogans against certain party leaders, including Rahul Sinha.

Commenting on the development, Mr Sinha said that those protesting outside the party office were sent at the behest of the ruling Trinamool Congress to malign the BJP.

He also justified the clashes by saying: what would party supporters do if the leaders are gheraoed by protestors.

On Tuesday, there were protests outside the party office by a section of workers who were denied tickets in the upcoming municipal polls.

The BJP leadership expelled three party leaders who were associated with the protests.
