Bengal BJP chief mum on rumours

May 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - KOLKATA:

Refusing to comment on media speculation about him getting replaced, West Bengal president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Rahul Sinha said the media knows better.

“These questions should be directed to the sections of media which reported it. The editor of the newspaper which has reported it harbours dreams of contesting the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls on a Trinamool Congress ticket. Please ask the person who is reportedly replacing me for more details,” Mr. Sinha told media persons here.

Arunabha Nandy, son of late senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Amitava Nandy, joined the BJP on Monday.

Rubbishing claims that Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Roy was set to join the BJP, Mr. Sinha said the Central leadership had clearly informed three days back that there was no possibility that Mr. Roy would be welcomed into the party.
