Course in journalism

Periyar University has proposed to introduce five year integrated Master’s degree programme in Journalism and Mass Communication with special emphasis on electronic media from the forthcoming academic year, P. Kolandaivel, Vice-Chancellor has said.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said that the new course will immensely benefit those who have completed the Plus-Two.

Mr. Kolandaivel said that the university has proposed to revise the curricula and syllabi of the university departments to enable the students to take national eligibility tests like GATE, CSIR, NET and SET with greater ease and tap their fullest potential of the students.

Plans are on the anvil to introduce reforms in the university examination pattern with objective and analytical questions, the statement said.
