A. Parthiban, a young employee of a software firm in Bengaluru, has sponsored Rs. 21,386 towards meeting the food expenses for a month for a male Tiger at Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur. His gesture comes as part of the government’s adopt your pet programme.

A press note said the money would help provide Adithya, the tiger, with 7 kg of meat and 150 g of liver every day for a month. The Zoo has the ‘adopt your animal’ scheme and individuals and companies can sponsor the monthly expenses of an animal of their choice. - Special Correspondent
