S. Arun, a national-level skater from Tamil Nadu, will represent India in the junior category at the World Junior Figure Skating championship 2012 to be held at Auckland, New Zealand from October 1 to 13.

He is coached by Pavan Kumar Akula, an international skating coach. Arun has received numerous medals at the national-level championships.

This year, Arun would be competing in the ‘solo dance on skates’ category, which has two parts: a short programme of compulsory dance set to music and rhythm selected by the Federation of International Roller Skating (which is the same for all skaters) and a longer programme set to the music selected by the skater.

Arun is a standard IX student of Jawahar Vidyalaya, Ashok Nagar. He is supported by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu under the championship development scheme.
