“I will not rule out another stint in politics. Anything can happen before the 2016 Assembly elections,” said actor Vadivelu at the press conference in which he spoke about his next release, Eli .
The comments came as a surprise because Vadivelu had earlier ruled out a return to politics after DMK, the party he campaigned for in 2011 Assembly elections, fared poorly and he took a sabbatical. Before the release of his last film, Thenali Raman , the actor said that he would concentrate on his career in movies.
Asked if he would do an out and out film about politics, the actor even said that he is planning to do a film in which he will be playing the role of a Chief Minister. “Don't be alarmed, it will of course be a comedy,” he said.
Vadivelu said that in Eli he plays a spy who infiltrates a criminal gang. “It is set in the 1960s. After speaking senthamizh in my previous film, many of my punch lines in this film will be in English and colloquial Tamil,” he said.
The actor revealed that the film will feature the famous song 'Mere Sapno Ki Rani' from Hindi film, Aradhana.
