Women display their skills at Chennai Super Mom contest

The 7th edition of Chennai Super Mom was marked by much excitement and enthusiasm on June 5, at the Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani. The event was conceived by The Hindu in association with ARC International Fertility and Research Centre in honour of mothers.

The contest has been a success over the years due to the active participation and support of enthusiastic mothers in the city. Super Mom has provided women a platform to display their skills. The semi-finals saw interesting events like needle the thread, roti making and salad making.

The chief guest at the event, Mahalakshmi Saravanan of ARC International Fertility and Research Centre, addressed the participants on topics such as infertility and egg/sperm freezing.

She awarded the Super Mom 2016 title to Aparna Iyer, while Tanu Chandak and Arthi Uday Kumar bagged the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up awards respectively. The finalists won prizes worth Rs 2 lakhs.

The associate sponsors for the contest were Hindustan International School and Shreenivas Silks and Sarees. Karur Vysya Bank was the banking partner and Forum Vijaya Mall the venue partner.

Gift sponsors included Aqua Pure Plus, VLCC, Lotte, Apollo Dental, UniverCell and Viveks.

Radio One was the official radio partner for the event.
