A woman, who allegedly consumed some tablets, swooned in the office of the Commissioner of Police here on Wednesday. She was shifted to the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital where her condition was said to be stable.

According to police sources, P. Velammal (53) of Vyasarpadi came to give a petition to the Commissioner accusing her son P. Soundararajan (35) of not taking care of her basic needs.

After giving the petition to a senior police official, Velammal complained of uneasiness and swooned on the campus.

Police personnel shifted Velammal to the hospital where she told doctors that she consumed some tablets in frustration. The Egmore police are investigating, the sources added.
