Woman held with fake passport

The Central Crime Branch arrested a 20-year-old woman who attempted to fly to Dubai on a fake passport.

Police said the suspect, A. Mamatha, 20, a native of Kolar, Karnataka has been staying at Vadapalani and was doing minor roles in Tamil films. As she was not able to earn much, she decided to go to Dubai and work as a dancer there. With help of an agent, she forged documents under the name of Kushboo and obtained passport in 2016.

Using the passport and after getting a sponsorship from a hotel, she obtained a visa for one year and was visiting Dubai frequently. When she was about to board a flight to Dubai on Tuesday at the Chennai airport, Immigration authorities checked her travel documents. On questioning, she admitted that she had a fake passport. Police are investigating.
