Volunteers’ conference to be held in city next week

On April 12, the city will host a one-day conference on volunteering.

Organised by AID India and Bhumi, ‘VolCon 2015’ is aimed at finding ways to motivate and use volunteers’ services effectively across a number of platforms, said Selva Ganapathy, volunteer coordinator, AID India.

The conference will be held at ICSR auditorium, IIT-Madras, and will have workshops on everyday challenges in volunteering, breakout sessions where participants can present their ideas, as well as question and answer sessions.

About 150 persons are expected to participate from corporates, NGOs and colleges across the country. The conference is also open to individual volunteers but has a registration fee.
