Dog days are here again and city residents are feeling the heat, not only on the weather front but also on the power scenario.

A few pockets of the city and suburbs have started facing power cuts and low-voltage problem over the past few days.

Raghavan, a resident of Ambedkar Street, Nanganallur, says the advent of summer means voltage fluctuations and power cuts of short duration during nights in their locality.

The residents of South Canal Bank Road, R.A. Puram, were left without power after a transformer was damaged due to fire on March 31. The residents of localities in Thiruninravur, Nemilichery and Thiruvallur are facing low voltage problem and unscheduled power cuts. TANGEDCO officials are also on their toes because the spike in demand for electricity keeps causing damage to electricity infrastructure. They promised to take action if the problem was brought to their attention.
