A total of 212 teams from 63 schools across Chennai took part in the second edition of Murugappa Madras Quotient Quiz 2012 which was conducted by Murugappa Group as part Madras Week celebration. The Vidya Mandir team won the championship. The team from PS Senior Secondary School and Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Nungambakkam, were the runners up.
Many from the audience also won prizes for answering the questions asked by the quizmaster, Navin Jayakumar. On the occasion, it was also announced that the quiz will henceforth be conducted every year on the first Saturday of September.
The event was attended by chroniclers of Madras, S. Muthiah and V. Sriram; A Vellayan, Executive Chairman, Murugappa Group; and teachers, students and parents.
