Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Sunday presided over the marriage of Kabilan, second son of lyricist Vairamuthu, which was attended by personalities from both politics and film world.
The bride M. Ramya is the daughter of district magistrate M. Mayandi. “Our association is that of an elder brother and younger brother. The marriage has once again reaffirmed our friendship. No one can separate us,” the Chief Minister said in his speech. He had a word of praise for the bridegroom Kabilan, who has also published poetry collection. He then quoted a poem.
Actor Rajinikanth said he was very close to Mr Vairamuthu and would share all personal matters with him. “I share with him the matters that I will not even discuss with my wife,” he said.
Actor Kamal Haasan said Mr Vairamuthu was a friend who would passionately reciprocate when it came to friendship. Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, a host of directors and actors, Kundrakudi Ponnambala Adigal, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan, Tamil Nadu Ministers and many others participated.
