‘Ugadi Puraskar' announced

Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Association will present ‘Ugadi Puraskar' to film personalities for their achievements at a function being organised here on Sunday as part of Telugu New Year.

Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, association's president B.Srinivas said the awards would be given in 14 categories, including those for best director, music director, playback singer and screenplay.

While ‘Mahathma' has been chosen as the Best Telugu Film, Srikanth and Meena have been adjudged best actors. Nine women who have excelled in different fields, including veteran playback singer P.Susheela, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Member of Parliament Jayapradha, would be honoured as part of International Women's Day celebrations, he said. Various cultural programmes would be conducted as part of the Ugadi celebrations at the Music Academy.
