Two persons were injured in separate accidents on Tuesday. The police registered a case in one of them.

In the morning, Saleem, a driver with a taxi operator, was taking a passenger in a BMW from Leela Palace Hotel to Santhome church.

While entering the church, the car hit Radhakrishnan (70) of Nochikuppam, who was sitting on a wooden board fitted with wheels. Radhakrishnan was injured on both his legs. Saleem was arrested on charges of rash driving. Radhakrishnan was admitted to the Government Royapettah Hospital.

Early on Tuesday morning, a car driven by director Soundarya Rajinikanth hit a stationary autorickshaw near Murrays Gate Road in Alwarpet. The auto driver sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was damaged. The 32-year-old, the younger daughter of actor Rajinikanth, is currently directing Velaiilla Pattadhari-2, starring her brother-in-law Dhanush. The police said that immediately after the accident, Mr. Dhanush rushed to the spot and spoke to the driver. The latter did not file a complaint.
