TUCS outlets to sell onions

As a market intervention measure, Triplicane Urban Co-operative Society on Sunday commenced offering onions at its supermarkets and select Public Distribution Shops for Rs.25 per kilo against the market price of Rs.45-48/kg.

Talking to The Hindu , TUCS Joint Registrar/Special Officer, R.G. Sakthi Saravanan said that they will sell around 5,000 kg of onion at 10 supermarkets and 50 select PDS outlets. Similarly steps are being taken to offer potatoes, tomatoes and drum sticks at an affordable price.
