Actor Trisha Krishnan lent her support to Prime Minister Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign.
The actor, along with her team of volunteers, cleaned up the Environmental Foundation of India’s animal shelter in Mudichur near Tambaram. Around 19 volunteers cleaned the shelter for more than two hours. They segregated the waste into bio-degradable and non-biodegradable.
Trisha , who has earlier been a supporter of animal rights and has lent her name as an activist, is the latest in a list of celebrities to join the campaign that aims to make India clean. Earlier, actor Kamal Haasan had pledged to take the campaign forward.
While the actor stressed on the importance for a clean environment, she insisted that it holds true for all life-forms.
The animal shelter, which will be fully functional in January 2015, will treat diseased and sick animals.
