Traffic diversions for Independence Day rehearsals

Traffic restrictions will be put in place for three days from Tuesday for Independence Day rehearsals.

According to a press release, the following modifications in the movement of traffic will come to effect on the above mentioned days from 6.30 a.m till the closure of the rehearsal. Accordingly, the stretch of Kamarajar Salai from Napier Bridge up to War Memorial, and Rajaji Salai from War Memorial up to RBI Subway North, and the stretch of Flag Staff Road from Walajah Point upto War Memorial will be closed for all vehicular traffic.

Vehicles coming on Kamarajar Salai and proceeding towards Parry’s Corner via Rajaji Salai may travel via Swami Sivananda Salai, Anna Salai, Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Road, R.A. Mandram and NFS Road to reach Parry’s Corner. Vehicles coming on Rajaji Salai and proceeding towards Kamarajar Salai via Rajaji Salai may travel via NFS Road, R.A. Mandram, Muthusamy Road, Muthusamy Bridge, Anna Salai and Wallajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai. The vehicles coming from EVR Salai and Anna Salai and heading towards Parry’s Corner via Flag Staff Road may travel via Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Road, R.A. Mandram and NFS Road to reacch Parry’s Corner. The vehicles coming from EVR Salai and Anna Salai heading towards Kamarajar Salai via Flag Staff Road may take the route via Anna Salai, Periyar Statue, Anna Statue, Wallajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai.
