In view of the IPL matches at M.A.Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, the police have announced that the following traffic diversions would be in force on March 31 and April 3 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on March 14, March 21, April 6, April 13 and April 15 from 3 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
According to a release, during the said time no vehicle would be permitted on Wallajah Road up to Kamarajar Salai, except MTC buses and vehicles with passes.
Bells Road would be made one-way with entry from Wallajah Road and no entry from Bharathi Salai. Entry from side roads into Bells Road is prohibited. The flow of traffic on Bells Road would be reversed after the match gets over and vehicles allowed from the junction of Bharathi Salai.
Only vehicles with passes would be allowed on Bharathi Salai from Triplicane High Road up to Kamarajar Salai.
Canal Road would be made one-way with entry from Bharathi Salai and no entry from Wallajah Road.
Cars and two-wheelers without passes coming on Anna Salai and Kamarajar Salai should come via Adams Road and park at Anna Square, Government Estate, Pandian Thidal and PWD office compound.
The police have made parking arrangements for vehicles with passes at the following places: Victoria Hostel, Warden Hostel, TNCA car park, MCC car park, Chepauk station, Pattabiram gate, while vehicles without car passes could park on Foreshore Road.
