A day after facing flak from the Opposition and industries for postponing the Global Investors Meet yet again, the State government on Wednesday went into overdrive.
At least five senior Ministers held review meetings at the Secretariat or in their departments to prove that the governance had not come to a standstill.
The same afternoon, a three-judge Supreme Court Bench said it would deliver verdict on the appointment of Bhavani Singh as Special Public Prosecutor in former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s appeal case on April 27.
Higher Education Minister P. Palaniappan held a meeting with officials of the department on improving technical education in the State ahead of a new academic year.
Of the 622 engineering colleges, including government colleges in the State, 590 have been inspected by Anna University officials for various issues including affiliation, infrastructural and faculty requirements. Besides, the discussion centred on the new infrastructure being created in government institutions, sources said.
