T.K. Rajendran back to head Chennai police

Hours after All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo Jayalalithaa was sworn in Chief Minister, the State government on Monday issued orders reversing the transfer of senior IPS officers made by the Election Commission ahead of the Assembly election.

Director-General of Police T.K. Rajendran, a 1984-batch IPS officer is back as the Commissioner of Police, Chennai, replacing Additional Director-General of Police Ashutosh Shukla, transferred and posted as ADGP, Enforcement. While Karan Singha, ADGP, Intelligence, was posted as the ADGP, Crime Branch CID, Inspector-General of Police K.N. Sathiyamurthy returns as the Chief of Intelligence.

ADGP J.K. Tripathy was posted as the ADGP (Law and Order) in the place of C. Sylendra Babu posted as ADGP, Coastal Security Group.
