Actor Kalaiarasan has emerged as a promising young actor in recent times after starring in a couple of critically-acclaimed films such as Madhayanai Koottam and Madras .

The actor received positive mainstream reviews for his roles in both films. Madras , in which he shared screen space with actor Karthi, did well at the box-office too. “Great reviews have opened many doors for me,” he said.

Gaining a foothold in the industry hasn’t been a cakewalk for Kalaiarasan. He had to appear in small roles in movies such as Attakaththi and Mugamoodi before being offered meaty roles.

Today, Kalaiarasan is faced with two options: to stick to multi-protagonist films or do solo hero films. When asked which he would prefer, the actor said he would like to star in movies with great content.

“As of now, I want to act in good movies. I know it is too early to do the lead and carry the entire movie on my shoulder. I prefer to be in movies where the narrative is strong and entertaining,” he said.

Kalaiarasan is doing three movies at present: Urumeen , where he stars opposite Bobby Simha, a horror film titled Jinn , and another film directed by writer Ajayan Bala and produced by director Vijay.
