A team of forest officials seized eight tiger claws and arrested three men who were in its possession on Friday. Live ammunition was also seized.

Officials trapped the men after a complaint by WWF-India volunteers.

R. Ratheeshrajan (28) of Mannady, V. Rameshkumar (40) and B. Venkatesan from Avadi allegedly got the claws from Andhra Pradesh.

“They have been booked under section 9 (hunting) and 49-b (trading of wildlife products) of Wildlife Protection Act. The seized claws would be sent to wildlife laboratory for tests by veterinarians,” said N. Krishnakumar, Forest Range Offcer.
