A three-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped from his house in R.K. Nagar on Monday. The parents are yet to lodge a police complaint.

According to Sikkander, a relative, the child, Mohammed Sathu, was playing outside his house in Nethaji Nagar second street, R.K. Nagar, when a youngster on a bicycle took him away. The parents searched for him in the neighbouring streets but could find no trace of him, he said.

Finally, they took CCTV footage from the nearby streets and saw the boy being taken away on a bicycle.

The footage shows the suspect sitting on the carrier and riding the bicycle and and the boy sitting on the seat and holding the handle bar.

“Mohammed Sathu is the son of Iliyas, who sells clothes outside the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, and Barkath Nisha. Apart from Mohammed, they have a 40-day-old boy,” said Mr. Sikkander.

Meanwhile, police officers claimed that the suspect had conducted a trial first before kidnapping the child.

He had taken the boy away and dropped him back in front of the house. “As no one questioned him, he kidnapped the boy again. We have traced his location and are tracking him,” said an officer.
