“All three girls knew each other since childhood,” said Deepa’s father, S. Balakrishan, who works in a private firm in the city.

On Wednesday, the parents of the three girls filed a ‘missing’ complaint with the MKB Nagar and Kodungaiyur police.

The police have formed special teams to search for the missing girls at various places including CBMT, Central railway station and major bus terminuses including the one at Broadway.

The police are also making enquiries with the girls’ neighbours and friends.

“We are also trying to track and locate them through the girls’ mobile phones. We will find them in a day or two,” said a police officer.
