Three people, including two children, were injured when they were hit by a car outside their school on Thursday.

The driver, Rahul Dhoka (25) from Choolai, has been arrested.

S. Geetha (40), from D’Miller’s Road, was feeding her son, Hrithik Roshan (3), outside his school in Choolai on Thursday afternoon when they were hit by a car driven by the accused. V. Krithika (4), another student of the school who was nearby, was injured in the accident.

The boy, Hrithik, was injured in both legs and admitted to Stanley Medical College, where the doctors had to amputate one of his legs. His mother, Geetha, has a fracture on her left leg, while Krithika suffered injuries on her hands, legs and face, the police said.

Although the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, a case has been registered under Section 308 for attempted murder since young children were involved.
