Three persons were mowed down by a truck, which crashed into a group of people standing on the roadside near Kadamalaiputhur on Grand Southern Trunk Road, on Friday night.
The driver has been arrested. According to the police the vehicle was going to Tindivanam.
While Malliga (40) and Dhanraj (35) died on the spot, Siva (22), Selvam (33) and Durai (22) were grievously injured. Siva succumbed to injuries at the Government Hospital in Madurantakam. Selvam and Durai have been referred to the Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital.
