With four out of five exit polls on Monday predicting the DMK to form the next government in Tamil Nadu, Tamil news channel Thanthi TV’s exit poll sees the AIADMK winning the polls and breaking the pattern of the two Dravidian parties ruling the State alternatively.

99 seats to DMK

The exit poll telecast on Thanthi TV on Tuesday predicts the AIADMK to win 111 seats with the DMK close behind at 99 while the Third Front is expected to win in three constituencies, PMK two, and the BJP winning one in Vedaranyam. However, the exit poll also predicted 16 seats to see a close contest.

On Monday, only the C-Voter-Times Now exit poll gave the AIADMK a majority with 139 seats while all other polls pointed to the DMK coming back to power.

According to the Thanthi TV poll, Electricity Minister Natham Viswanathan could lose in Athur, while former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam is likely to hold on to his seat in Bodinayakannur.
