Nearly 50 members of the Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuva Sakthi staged a candlelight vigil at the Valluvar Kottam in Nungambakkam on Tuesday evening for the 20 victims of a shoot-out in Andhra Pradesh on April 7.

According to the Nungambakkam police sources, around 6.15 p.m. the group led by State president K. Jagadeshwar Reddy gathered at Valluvar Kottam and paid homage to the photos of all 20 men from Tamil Nadu shot dead by the AP Police, whom the police claimed were involved in smuggling of red sanders in Andhra forests.

The members condemned the killings. Terming it a ‘fake encounter’ by the AP Police they raised slogans against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
