The police on Thursday arrested a teenager on charges of raping a 10-year-old girl in Sholavaram. The accused is the girl’s paternal uncle.
According to the police, the girl was missing when her father woke up on Sunday morning. After a search, the girl was found lying unconscious on a nearby street with blood stains on her clothes.
“We gathered information on people who had easy access to the house during the day. We grew suspicious of the girl’s uncle, a teenager. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime,” said a senior officer from the Sholavaram station.
