Teams to monitor code of conduct

As many as 31 zonal teams have been deployed in the Srirangam Assembly constituency to monitor the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, according to Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Saxena.

Two special squads, one flying squad and one video squad were also monitoring the implementation of the code. As of now, the local administration had received 10 cases of removal of defacement of public property and 260 cases of private property, for which action was being taken.

Observers

The Election Commission has appointed IAS officer Balkar Singh as the general observer for the by-election. IPS officer Vinod Kumar is the police observer.
