Two employees of Tata Consultancy Services breezed through the Air India tourism quiz and walked away with the first prize.
Over 120 corporate teams participated in the quiz, held on Wednesday.
Priyambad Pattanayak (32), a business analyst and 30-year-old R. Jayakanthan who played under the team name ‘Ship of TCS’ swept through the quiz and won the prize of a three-night-and-four-day stay at Sydney.
Losing the quiz four times previously did not deter him from participating for the fifth time, said Mr. Jayakanthan. Mr. Pattanayak said that answering questions about their favourite topics such as cuisine made it much easier for them to win. “You can never prepare for a quiz. All we do is keep of track of current events constantly,” he said.
Puducherry tourism minister, P. Rajavelu who distributed the prizes, said the tourism industry has been growing across the nation. “The Puducherry government has been taking steps to promote tourism and improve tourist attractions,” he said.
