Teachers from UK visit Hari Shree Vidyalayam

March 10, 2013 11:39 am | Updated 11:47 am IST - Chennai:

Two teachers from Blackfen School for Girls, UK, visited Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Raja Annamalaipuram, recently.

Both schools have been engaged in a collaborative project.

Recognising the quality work done by Class VIII of Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam and the corresponding age group in the UK school, the British Council has offered a grant to sponsor the reciprocal visits between both the schools.

The grant not only enables both the partner schools to visit each other but also enables them to further collaborate and develop a global dimension to their curriculum.

The children in both the schools worked on the topic “The Me in You” which dealt with identity in the society, cross cultural influences and others. During the course of the project, they interacted with people from different walks of life. The visiting teachers also interacted with the families of the students and got an insight about Indian culture.

The visit will be reciprocated by Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam where two of its teachers will spend a week in UK at Blackfen School.
