A Tasmac supervisor was waylaid and robbed of ₹12 lakh by unidentified persons near Gummidipoondi on Sunday night.

Thiruselvam works in an outlet in Puduvayal village near Gummidipoondi. He was returning on a bike to his native Ragureddy village along with his brother Ramachandran with two days’ collection — ₹12 lakh. A car that was following them grazed their vehicle and in the impact, the duo fell. A group of men came out of the car and brandishing a knife, demanded that Thiruselvam give them the money. When he refused, the men slashed Thiruselvam and beat up his brother. They took the bag and drove away.
