The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has urged all star hotels and restaurants to use generators till October end to tide over the present energy crisis.

An official release issued on Sunday said as the State was witnessing an energy deficit of over 4,000 MW, power cuts were implemented over and above the stipulated time. To tide over the situation, the co-operation of all types of energy consumers was needed. On their part, five star hotels and restaurants should meet their energy requirements in the evening hours, using gensets. They should maintain air-conditioning facility at 26 degree Celsius. The energy thus saved through this method would be distributed in other areas to enable consumers to meet the basic needs.
