The Anti-Video Piracy Cell of the CB-CID booked cases against Tamilrockers.TV and Tamildb.net for releasing the Tamil film Ippadai Vellum online.

The case was registered by the CB-CID wing based on a complaint given by the Tamil Film Producers Council.

According to the complainant, the film hit the theatres on November 9, and without any permission from the producers, the film was released on the above websites on November 14.

The complainant had downloaded the version of the film from the portals and submitted it along with the complaint.
